1: Lambadug trek:

Lamadug trek starts from Hadimba temple, Manali. Trek to this high altitude alpine meadow near Old Manali, is moderate and recommended for beginners. Covering a total distance of nearly 3 km, this short one day trek to Lamadugh leads you through the beautiful dense forests of pine, deodar, and cedar. This uncharted trail offers stunning views of the Dhauladhar and Pirpanjal ranges including Rohtang pass, Deo tibba and a distance view of the Manalsu and Bara shigri glacier.

  • The Manali to Haidmba temple distance is around 3km. Tourists can walk or hire auto/car to reach the ancient temple from mall Road, Manali.
  • 2:Jana waterfall

Surrounded by apple orchards and snow-capped mountain peaks, Jana waterfall in Manali is a serene place to escape the chaotic city life. Jana waterfall cascades from an elevation of about 30 feet, hence, to get a clear view of this magnificent sight you need to trek to the waterfall through dense pine and deodar forests. The climb is easier and can be completed by beginner-level hikers too.

How to reach?

Jana waterfall is located at a distance of 32 km from Manali and 12 km far from Naggar. It can be easily reached by a short drive from Naggar. Local buses are also available from Naggar to Jana village. It is a 15-20 minutes hike from Jana bus stop to Jana waterfall. 

3:Goshal village:

It is a 2 km trek from the very famous Manu temple in Old Manali to Goshal, a traditional and ancient village of Himachal Pradesh. With wooden homes as old as seven hundred years, this enhancing traditional village is an undiscovered gem situated at the foothills of the Himalayas. You can see a signboard right before Manu temple pointing towards the starting direction of the Goshal trek. The path leading to Goshal is scenic as it passes through apple orchards, pine trees and gushing streams.

How to reach?

Situated at a distance of 3 km from Mall road, Manu temple is easily accessible by walking. From Manu temple, one has to hike for about 3 km to reach Goshal. 

4: Chakki Nala to Rumsu Village

Rumsu, a 1000 years- old- ancient Himalayan village, is the base camp of Chandrakhani Pass trek that leads you to Malana. Situated 5 km away from Naggar village, Rusmu is a picturesque village that is worth to pay a visit. A quick 45 minutes to 1-hour drive from main Manali town will take you to Chakki Nala, the starting point of Rumsu village trek. Walking through the dense thickets and Beas River while enjoying the stunning landscape around you will be an experience to remember for a lifetime.

How to reach?

Take a car from Manali to Jagatsukh leading to Chakki Nala. It is a 1.5-2 hours walk through apple orchards and forest from Chakki Nala to Rumsu village.

Things to remember for a smooth offbeat trekking experience

• Carry a water bottle and sufficient sacks

• Take a small bag with all your essentials, medicines in it

• Wear comfortable, sturdy trekking shoes

• A local guide is not needed for most of these trails, however, keep asking the locals for directions

• There are no ATMs outside Manali town, so don\'t forget to get enough cash.
